Saints of Marymount

“My university back at home, Hanze University Groningen, has many partner universities here in the United States, Marymount University being one of them. The main reason why I chose Marymount was because of its location. I liked that it was so close to Washington D.C. such a big city, because at home I don’t live in the city. I was also curious about the history and culture of America and thought D.C., as the capital city, would be the best place to come and explore this.

Life at Marymount is very different to my university at home. The campus here is a lot smaller and in my Dutch university we don’t have the opportunity to live on campus. I really like these differences because they have made my experience here feel a lot more personal.  It can sometimes feel like everyone knows each other here. When I walk through the campus everyone is so friendly, people are always saying hello and asking about my day. This really friendly atmosphere has helped me to feel really welcome at Marymount. I am really loving America and Marymount and wish I could stay here for a second semester!”
