Whether you are an interior design student or neuroscience major, you can participate in Marymount’s signature event showcasing fashions created, modeled and produced by students.

Portfolio in Motion (PIM) is set for April 2024. This year’s executive director, Yotwarit Kornwoodtikun, known as Best, said he aims to create a “bigger and better production.”

To find out how to participate, follow @marymountpim on Instagram or contact y0k48519@marymount.edu. Opportunities include modeling, photography, videography, graphic design, and hair and makeup.

Ella Schardt, a sophomore at Marymount studying interior design, urged students who are considering modeling to “strap on a pair of heels and try it out!”

“No one knows what they are doing until it’s done, everyone is freaked out, everyone is nervous, just try it out and you will be surprised,” Schardt said.

Each spring, Marymount’s fashion merchandising and design students collaborate to execute the fashion show in the Rose Benté Lee Center, and students of any major can get involved.

Grace Healey, creative director of PIM 2023 said, “The PIM team is always happy to welcome volunteers throughout the process, the more the merrier.”

The 2023 team included students from various programs at Marymount University, including nursing, health sciences and the arts.

Sophomore neuroscience student Amanda Martinez, who was a PIM model, said, “PIM helped me discover things about myself that I didn’t know I was capable of. I grew in different areas, besides modeling, like being a part of a team, getting out of my comfort zone, and being satisfied with who I am as an individual.”
