“Welcome to the club”: MU hockey is here to stay
Marymount’s brand new Ice Hockey Club Team is quickly making its mark.

So quickly, President Shank has already said he wants to attend a game himself. Who can blame him? Who doesn’t want to see their peers slam opponents and not get in trouble? MU Hockey is more than a game; it is quality entertainment.
The president of the club, Anthony Olivette, was inspired to start up this club to get more involved on campus. As a high school state champion in hockey and Arlington native, Olivette is confident the club can last since there is an ice rink in Ballston, Kettler Capitals Iceplex, and Washington D.C. is a great town for hockey as home to the Washington Capitals.
The team has some nice goals in mind for the future. Some of these include having a good reputation as a club on campus, playing at Kettler every week (just a shuttle ride away) and having a program that makes hockey players want to come to Marymount.
Mark your calendars! MU Hockey takes on Catholic University January 28th at 8pm, at Kettler.
“We welcome you to the club, we hope you like our brand of hockey and we will do our best for you guys,” said Olivette.
