Sagar Dhakal entering Hindu Durga Temple in Lorton, Virginia for his evening religious ritual.

Socializing while preparing to go inside the Temple. Bhaire says, “I feel so refreshed entering the Temple.”

Sagar removes his shoes before entering the Temple. Going barefoot inside the Temple is considered an exhibition of humbleness.

Washing hands is compulsory when entering the Temple because it symbolizes that Sagar is entering with purity.

Sagar entering the main room of the Temple where all of the gods and goddesses are presented.

Sagar is connecting with Hindu god Durga, and the priest (Guru) who provides worship services, is coming out to help Sagar perform his religious ritual.

Bowing his head towards the Hindu god Vishnu, “The Preserver and Protector of the Universe”

Getting red color (Tika) from the priest of the Temple is considered to prevent the loss of energy.

Sagar holding Prasad (an orange and nuts) given by the priest, which is known as “the Deity’s Blessings” in Hindu religion.

Sagar leaves the Temple with confidence and satisfaction. Sagar says, “I feel very confident and relieved after I visit the Temple.”
