Links 50 Year Anniversary

By: Rebecca Lake

In Marymount’s video production course, students helped contribute to the narrative of a nonprofit organization. Metropolitan District of Columbia Chapter of the Links Incorporated consists of African American women that dedicate their time and money to improve conditions for communities in need. The spring of 2018 was the DC Links chapter’s 50th anniversary. Marymount students met representatives from different age groups to collect their stories from their time as Links members. Students interviewed, filmed, and edited a reflection piece on the organization’s 50 years of service. The final product was played during the Links annual gala to announce college scholarships to at-risk youth.
