The intense game was fun to witness, however it seemed the victory had to share the spotlight with something else. Through a total of 45 minutes of regulation and overtime, a total of 71 fouls were called throughout the game. You read that right.

Senior Pat Dumais understood well what it took to push through the constant pauses in the game for fouls. “It was a hard fought game from start to finish. I’m proud of the mental toughness we showed, especially when our team started to get into foul trouble,” he said.

A game being temporarily paused for a foul, especially 71 times, can potentially shift the momentum, and the outcome of a game.

Leading the team with 21 points, Senior Michael Anderson and the Saints’ bench outscoring Penn State’s bench by 9 points proved to come in the clutch. Be sure to tune in as the Saints take on St. Mary’s Saturday, January 28th.
